The 14 stations of “Via Lucis” adorning the Holy Redeemer Church were blessed by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-shing on 28th April 2018.
They were painted by Ms. Elizabeth Kwong Pui-yin, and are now displayed on the wall alongside the stairway leading to the church. Rev. Joseph Liu Ah-lun willed everyone to live out the teachings of the Words and become the “Children of Light” through walking past “Via Lucis” after masses, so that everyone can be the witness of the Resurrected Christ in our words and actions. He said, “We may try to grasp the extend of resurrection in our belief by studying the colours and lines of the works.”
“Via Lucis” is a way of joy and peace. It is an energetic path paved with Jesus’s resurrection. Jesus enjoined us, “Do not be afraid!” Life is a never-ending journey and we have to restore the quality of our lives. It is not what people nowadays imaging that replacing human efforts with machines. What we have to work hard on is to strengthen ourselves and to look forward. “Via Lucis” set us a high ideal, urging us to imitate the Resurrected Christ because He is the supreme example of virtue. “Via Lucis” ends with the Resurrected Christ sending the Holy Spirit to His disciples as promised. This is His final message. Without God and Holy Spirit, we won’t be able to achieve a quality life.
