    Brothers and Sister in Christ:

May joy and peace of our Savior Jesus Christ be with you always.

Although I am at present on study leave in Philippines, you are always on my mind. Your prayers give me strength and encouragement to study hard so as to better service the Church when I return.

As a result of the introduction of the Extradition Bill by the Hong Kong Government, we have experienced an unprecedented social and political turmoil during the past six months. I am sure every one of us feel concerned and distressed. There were a few incidents of protest marches and confrontations outside our Church and tear gas as well as rubber bullets were used by the police. Concerning the present situation in Hong Kong, let us continue to put our faith in God and believe in His guidance. We may not see our way out yet but we need to do our part as Christians, to have faith, love and hope in our everyday lives.

Due to the effects of the tear gas used in the vicinity of our Church and taking into account the interior air quality, the Parish has installed six air purifiers inside the Church. In addition, the Castle Peak Catholic Primary School has hired a professional cleaning company to thoroughly clean the school grounds, inside the Church and the outer wall to ensure that all residual harmful substances were eradicated.

The Parish has established an Engineering Working Group to facilitate and monitor all engineering projects within the Parish. On the subject of the lift, initial contact had been made with the supplier. We need to submit a blueprint to the Architectural Services Department before we can start work. This will be dealt with and we hope that the project can be implemented as soon as possible. To comply with regulations of the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, work on the air conditioning system will commence soon. The improvement of video equipment has completed. The projectors in the covered playground have been upgraded to high definition standard. Lighting inside the Church will be enhanced to LED lights, color temperature can be adjusted. This will give us a warm praying environment.

The theme for the Parish in 2020 is “Hope”. The Monthly Parish Retreat and a series of talks to be organized in the New Year will help us find hope in our lives through Jesus. At the same time, the Parish will continue to co-organize with Hong Kong Catholic Biblical Association the Bible Course to help parishioners to deepen their understand of the Word of God.

The Parish hope that in the New Year, we will continue to be united in solidarity and have spiritual and financial support from you all. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the love and support you give to the Pastoral Team and the Parish Pastoral Council. We need your prayers. May God shower grace upon you hundredfold.

    Emmanuel! God is with us!
